I live in Berkeley, CA. I’m fortunate to live an hour and a half from my favorite run in the world. It’s an out and back to Tomales Point in Point Reyes national park. Whether for a mental health day or just to watch the seasonal changes a run along the ridge with Tomales bay on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other never fails to help me reset. The elk, whales, badger holes and 4 months of wild flowers aren’t bad either.

I live in Pune, India. I mostly run here in Pune. I spend several months a year in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and also often spend a month or so in the States, either Boston suburbs, or this year - North Hampton, NH. I loved running to the beach in North Hampton. I also love running around Plovdiv. Since these places are so different from each other in terms of running, I really get to appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Here in San Jose I have the nice flat Guadalupe river park to put the miles in. When I feel obliged to do hill work (every other year or so) there's Alum Rock park on the east side. Along with weather that offers few excuses to skip a run, we're blessed with many great races here: Big Sur, Wharf to Wharf, Bridge to Bridge, Bay to Breakers, plus all the ones using the Golden Gate.

What I love is to travel for races - NYC, LA, DC, San Diego, Acadia Park. I just ran my favorites: the Scandinavian capitols. The (non-Covid modified) courses are excellent and are usually scheduled within a couple weeks of each other in September, although I had to replace the Oslo half with the half in Paris due to entry restrictions to Norway for this trip. I'm hoping to expand my running trips to other cities once the issues traveling during Covid lessen.

I live in East San Francisco Bay Area. For flat runs, the SFBay Trail - lots of different segments around the perimeter of the Bay. For some hills, there are beautiful runs in and around Mt Diablo and its expansive views.

I live in northern Virginia, just outside DC, & run most of my longer runs on the W&OD trail. My favorite place to run is the Tobie Trail in the Adirondacks, which runs along Rt. 28 between Old Forge & Inlet. A surprisingly flat dirt trail next to a road that is a bit up & down.

Moved from the cold of Minnesota to sunny Florida. Spent a couple years in Jacksonville and then relocated to Orlando. Managed a Home Depot where I met my Bride and moved into a 100 year old home in of all places Leesburg. It now looks like it did the day they finished it.

Started running in HS and did all the distances before calling it quits for too many years. My wife got me back running again and I haven't looked back. I think I needed to get away for a while to get the competitive juices flowing again. I run from a 5K to a marathon plus. I run 99% of the time with a blue tooth in my ears and my Apple watch. At 71 there won't be anymore PR... but there will be miles and hours spent doing something I truly enjoy.

Hello from Italy... I am from Udine, in the north close to Austria. I love running in the old middle age city centres. I have run the 51 bridges in Venice, I will run the half marathon in Rome, will run in 2 weeks the Treviso half marathon and in 1 week I will run a half in my city... I like the atmosphere of the old cities ...

I am a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. My grandfather’s family came to the area way back when to mine. (Crazy to think about! They never struck it rich.)

I live in a residential neighborhood, but it’s definitely city life. Lots of traffic, homeless people, etc. I am careful when I run.

My favorite place to run is near my family’s cabin in Duck Creek, Utah. The altitude kicks my can, but it’s quiet & the only thing I have to watch out for when I run are mountain lions. (I’ve still never seen one, but they have been sighted in the area.)

Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvnia until retirement in Southwest Ranches Florida (30 miles north of Miami but not on the beach). In Pittsburgh typically ran in Schenley Park near my Squirrel Hill house. Now I typically run in Southwest Ranches past horses cattle and other wildlife, although I have yet to cross paths with any alligators. Five years ago an 11 foot 450 pound alligator was caught in Southwest Ranches.

I am in Wellington, Ohio. We are about a 40 minute drive from downtown Cleveland. We ha lots of parks and trails to run, as well as our cities close to downtown. It is rural where I live so I don’t really like running near home. But the parks aren’t that far away so it’s easy to take advantage of them.

College Station Texas. We live on the edge of the city, so it is pretty easy to run straight from the house everyday. We have a great Marathon/Half coming up in December here, the BCS Marathon. They are pretty committed to it being live and in person, barring anything crazy happening between now and then. Look it up online and come and join us!

Still in Redmond, WA. I run the trails around the Sammamish River. 10 miles yesterday for training!

I was scheduled for the Golden Gate Marathon in SF on 11/07/21 but since I had done it twice already, decided to virtualize it this year. Fortunately, we have a wonderful event planner here in Anacortes, WA (Orca Running) so I'll be doing the Orca Run the month of October to help our whales (I'm a sucker for helping out with animals and birds!) and then the Half Marathon around Lake Washington on November 6th to satisfy the Golden Gate Requirements. It's a race I've never done before, but the elevations are similar to those in SF. It will be cooler, but different!

Hopefully, next year will be better and I can fly to California again with no CoVid restrictions.

Honolulu, Hawaii. ALOHA! I mostly run thru my neighborhood and would sometime venture out and run along the beach during the weekend. I try to do my own personal 1/2 marathon every 4 months to keep me motivated. This past summer, we visited my in-laws in NE where I got to run 1/2 marathon race in Norfolk. Running in a flat, vast landscape was quite the experience!

London, England! I’m lucky to be in an area with lots of parks so I get a bit of variety from just running on pavements next to roads, but I much prefer getting out when I go and see my parents in the countryside - there’s basically no traffic where they live. I’m gearing up for a half marathon at the beginning of November but the real race I’m training for is my first 50k next May!

I live in Southern Connecticut. Stamford is about 45 minutes from NYC, and the section I live in, North Stamford, is built on a ridge. This means I have LOTS and LOTS of hills to contend with so I'm always happy to run someplace else. Sadly my one in person race, the Army 10-Miler, was recently moved to virtual. I was REALLY looking forward to running in DC again!

I live in SW Florida [Cape Coral] and, as a transplant [from NYC] I get to use running, and races, as a travel means to see the finer sights of Florida. Will "visit" Naples, St. Augustine, Key West and Port Charlotte this running season. I'm hopeful of traveling to NYC next summer and do a half there, in the Rockaways [where I'm originally from].

Hi there, I'm from Lithuania - I once already told you, and the nearest trail run (this year I will try to run the 70 km with 1000 m vertical) will take place in a month. Link to the race page: http://www.trailkursiunerija.com/en/ It's literally 10 kilometers from where I live. This year I'm a little bit afraid, because I am extremely undertrained, but I beleive I can beat the distance. I will come back in a month with the results. Wish me luck :)

I currently live in the Charleston SC area (Summerville). I like to run half marathons, so my best long run areas close to my house are the Nexton development and Sawmill Branch trail. I’m also part of the 50 States Half Marathon club, but Covid (and work to some extent) has squashed my progress on getting new states. Currently in transition to Burke’s Garden, VA (aka God’s Thumbprint). The serenity of running in one of most beautiful places in the US (imho) more than offsets the hilly terrain!

I live in Long Beach, CA. I run along the beach a lot. Makes for cooler runs, but try to run when we travel. As others have stated here, it's such a great way to see a place! One of my all time favorite places to run when traveling is around Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY. I could run that 3 mile loop over and over it's so beautiful (but not in the winter - burrrrr). Happy Friday, all!

Springfield, IL. My go-to race here is the Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon (1st Saturday in April). I'd love to do a half in all 50 states but, given I'm already 53 and only have 2 states (IL & FL) so far, I am way behind. Doesn't help that pancreatitis and a subsequent diabetes diagnosis kind of derailed my running in 2020. I'm still learning how to run as a diabetic.

I loved the Chicago Marathon course (though I'm not a fan of the distance...LOL) and I really enjoy running races at Disney World.
