I’ll be 65 this year and still run uninjured thanks to ChiRunning. I’ve been a Master Instructor and teaching ChiRunning for 15 years. Check it out if you want to learn good technique. I don’t mean to plug anything here but ChiRunning changed my life and running is who I am (for God’s glory) so I thought I’d say so. Happy trails everyone and thanks Terrell for your writings! If you all ever come out to visit Lake Tahoe look me up.
One of my sons is going to UNR! We just got back from visiting him in Reno last weekend. He took us up to Lake Tahoe and we walked a cool path around part of it. 👍🏼 We love Reno and Tahoe! 🥰
Hi, Cheryl! Another Chi Runner here. . . been so since 2009. You're only 65? I'm 76 and still going strong with Chi. Originally from Wellington, NV. Lived most of my life in Nevada. Right now, I'm in Oregon, training on the buttes for the Half in Eugene. I betting Skiing is terrible right now. Hope some moisture kicks in soon!
Yep skiing definitely is low tide right now. Hopefully a storm this weekend! So cool to hear from another Chirunner going strong! It really is a game changer!
Seen photos of you going down the slopes on the Chi Running news letter. I used to cross-country Kirkwood and Northstar. Worked with Danny (I got lucky!!) and with Beth Cline and some others in the Seattle area. So wonderful to find another Chi Runner on The Half Marathoner. I've been on Terrell's site for years!! Sure hope you get snow soon. We are hoping for just rain here in the Willamette Valley. The hills are too short, steep and icy if we get the white stuff!
Beth Cline is still teaching and doing well. Danny, as you may know, is doing retreats and speaking engagements still. I ran with him at the Memphis Half Marathon a month ago. He’s still pretty speedy. He ran the 10K in 1:04! He’s 74 and had a knee injury so thought he could have gone faster! You are truly blessed to have run with him. He’s an amazing human.
Skied today at Mt Rose which probably has the best snow in Tahoe. Need more!!
Beth stays in touch every so often. I didn't know Danny was doing retreats. Wonderful you got to run with him in Memphis. I really wanted to go, but having just moved to Oregon threw me off. Didn't know about his knee. . . I'm about the same age, a little older. Got a rowing machine over the holidays and it it amazing how much it has helped my knees. We have a lot of stairs (an I mean a lot!!) at our new place. Between them and the hills, I thought it was the end. . . but no! So much more energy and no impact. . .I am impressed!
Mt. Rose. . . I love it, especially the view from the meadows over Tahoe. I don't know how many times we did it cross country. The view is spectacular. You are truly lucky to live there!
Hey, Terrell! Bet your mail is overflowing today. . . so many readers of THM. I'll be going out the door soon. The Rowing machine is doing wonders! I've only done it a few days, but boy, boy, does it help with flexible knees and core muscles. . . a full body workout!
I had a friend who shared the book with me. I read a couple of pages, really liked what I read then bought the book. I read the first hundred pages and began to apply a few skills. Long story shorter, my knee pain disappeared! My husband couldn’t keep up with me as I ChiWalked up a local 11,000 foot peak! I was thrilled because I thought maybe this was the answer. That I really could run pain free. Within a year I became an instructor. 14 months after my workshop with a master instructor I ran my first 50 miler. Two years later I became a certified instructor and in 2014 Danny designated me a Master. I’ve taught hundreds of people of all ages and abilities. Running and teaching ChiRunning is the joy and passion of my life! Thanks for asking Terrell. People won’t hear about it in the mainstream running media.
That’s awesome! ChiRunning has helped thousands around the world. If Danny’s writing resonates with you find an instructor near you and learn in person. Run well!

Most people hear about it word of mouth.
ChiRunning.com is the website where you can learn more.
Cheers!
I have a ChiRunning book and you've now inspired me to take it out and try again!
