Didn't know about his knee. . . I'm about the same age, a little older. Got a rowing machine over the holidays and it it amazing how much it has helped my knees. We have a lot of stairs (an I mean a lot!!) at our new place. Between them and the hills, I thought it was the end. . . but no! So much more energy and no impact. . .I am impressed!
Mt. Rose. . . I love it, especially the view from the meadows over Tahoe. I don't know how many times we did it cross country. The view is spectacular. You are truly lucky to live there!
