The best to You and Yours for the Holiday!

I hope you are safe and warm. We are covered in Ice until bout 4 this afternoon then we come out the other side with lots of rain for the upcoming week!

Love your newsletter. It makes my day! I'd join the App, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'd be on the phone all day. . . :) BTW saw a great article on the Blue Zones the other day. Have to send it on to you. . . :)

I'm on the coast of North Carolina, 50 ft. Above sea level, very windy, 35 degrees, no precipitation. All in the teeth of the storms, take care.

Everything is ok. We had snow for 3 weeks, now it's raining and +3C. Very good weather to test my motivation for a running. I'm failing on a daily basis :D

How about you, Terrell?

When I lived in Minnesota, we always had a white Christmas. I had nine brothers and sisters, so you can imagine how crazy the holidays were. My dad would pile everyone into the station wagon, and we headed to a tree lot to pick the perfect tree. Okay, it was never perfect, but we thought it was. We would haul down all the boxes from the attic and spend a weekend decorating the tree while my parents watched. Dad always had to move the ornaments and lights higher but did it after we'd gone to bed. We never had much, but what we did get, we treasured it. That may be a hundred years ago, but you always remember the Christmases when you were young. To all my new friends, have a wonderful and safe Holiday, and remember, our half marathon will be here before you know it!

Shades of when I was young with my 6 siblings, My dad was the same, but he'd always add a new branch on the tree to make it perfect. He climbed mountains in the Sweetwaters through the snow. cut one down every year and brought it home until my mom had a stroke in her 80s. The ornaments were carefully preserved and God Forbid if we broke one--some are over 100 years old now. My brother has them. If you were like us, you got a navel orange and some milk chocolate.. We didn't think of toys and were lucky to have a grandmother who sent a few things. Thank you for bringing back fond memories! A very Merry Christmas to you!! Best wishes for 2023. Lace those shoes up and Run! :)

We also had ornaments and lights from when my parents were kids. There was one string of lights that had large round frosted lights. One by one, they burned out until there was only one left. My Dad passed before it finally went out. Now I tell my Bride...I call her my bride because we're still on our honeymoon after 25 years... to forget the gifts and save the money so we can go away for a romantic weekend. That means more than just buying something because it's Christmas.

Go for it!! I fell on my bum taking out the garbage last night. So much Ice on the sidewalks and snow. Only my ego was hurt. . . I'm proficient at falling from skating. Now it is raining buckets, but I am SO, SO glad to see just water and not snow. Should be light rain on Monday, then another atmospheric river comes in. I'm going out for a walk or run on Monday come hell or high water! Can't stand being cooped up inside !!!!! :)
