“Fitness has to be fun. If it is not play, there will be no fitness. Play, you see, is the process. Fitness is merely the product.” — George A. Sheehan First, welcome to the new subscribers who’ve just joined us! Every Tuesday we devote to a training topic, written most weeks by Hollie Sick, an accomplished runner who has completed more than 50 half marathons and works in a running retail store.
I did my Race this weekend in Virginia Beach. First time there, we (my husband and I) also had a mini Vacation. Funny I did see some one run barefoot, I thought it was crazy. But if that works that’s awesome. I did the half marathon, for my age group I think I did well.
I'm not a beginning runner but I still enjoyed reading how we should run the way our body runs - don't change it. Back when I started, I tried to change my stride as well as trying not to be a heel striker. Both caused problems. Thanks for all the good info.
I haven't run many different half marathons or marathons. I have a half coming up in a few weeks along the niagara river. I am interested in increasing my pace. I'm finding it difficult because on my shorter runs I am pushing my almost 2 year old twins in a stroller. Any suggestions? I enjoyed reading this article.

This was good read Thank you.

Very nice, Belinda! Was it the RNR Virginia Beach Half?
Yes, I finished in 2:18, my goal was 2:15. Close. Maybe the next one. It was so fun
