See if there is a running group in your area you can join. I LOVE the group I am apart of - there are people in it of every age, speed and distance. You are pretty much guaranteed to find someone to run with when you go on the Saturday long runs. I love that I don’t have to run by myself, the group is so motivating and encouraging, and I’ve made friends that have turned into close friends. Hopefully you can find something similar where you are.

Another suggestion - when I taught in middle school, I would go running regularly with a coworker right after school. We kept each other accountable for our running, and it made it a lot harder to skip for the day! I also loved getting it out of the way at work, because most of the days, when I got home I would not run! Talk to the track and/or cross country coaches if you don’t know of anyone at work to run with. Best of luck!!

Oh, I would love a group. I live in a very small rural community, not even a fitness center anymore. I have looked for groups all around within an hours drive for Saturdays.

My assistant principal is a runner, but she usually has after school meetings, ballgame supervision, an 8th grader, and is working on her PhD. She struggles to find 30 minutes. There used to be some after school "hall walkers" but not since Covid.

I appreciate the suggestions---I keep trying.

I am looking now to sign up for events in the near future.
