I went from simply running…to placing myself in the “arena.” Inspired by many others—like Brené Brown’s books addressing vulnerability and shame—plus motivated to “walk the talk” about fitness and leadership, I began running HMs last year. Combined with my wife’s business trips and our “race-cations” it has been quite an experience. The first—Austin, TX—was stomach churning at the start but oh so satisfying to finish. I got hooked. Then San Francisco, Colorado Springs, and Rehoboth, DE filled the 2018 calendar. This year it was Austin, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Vermont (Mad Half—killer hills), and Albuquerque next…followed by Rehoboth again—and then Houston in January. The dance keeps on going!
That's an amazing list, Howie! Which Austin half did you do? (The 3M or the Austin Half Marathon?) I too have run the San Francisco Half (the 1st one) and it's such an amazing experience. Love the enthusiasm and the dedication!
