Thank you for sharing your training points. I especially liked that every athlete is unique. We tend to forget this fact and try to compare ourselves to others too much. As a 65-year-old retiree I can never aspire to doing a 10 min mile. But I know that for someone my age if I can run a 15 min mile then I am in pretty darn good shape. And I concentrate on the fact that I am blessed to not have any chronic illnesses or injuries. Just to feel strong is enough for me.
Gorgeous pic!! Seriously thinking about setting that as my phone background, if I can.
Great tips, especially about not working on both volume and intensity in the same week. Learned that hard lesson personally and wound up completely spent. I spend more time trying to recover than I would have if I had just split the two.
I got word that the Manchester by the bay was cancelled. Ugh. Was hoping to do that one while in Massachusetts. Also The Colony that I’ve done for the past 4 or 5 years was also deferred to 2021. Our Firefly 5k was originally deferred to October, but has now gone virtual. Dropping like flies :( Miles and Margaritas trail half is still on this weekend...so far!
Got 4 in the books Monday and skipped yesterday. Heading out for 5 now...
Wow beautiful picture!!! Thank you for posting it!! I’m glad you had that wonderful opportunity to learn about different perspectives on running techniques and sharing them with us.
Thank you for your training tips. I look forward to learning more. My 8 miler was the hardest run I have had in years!! First off I had to do it Sunday as I was exhausted and slept a great deal on Saturday. Second, when I opened the door to go, the hot humid air at 83 degrees took my breath away!! It was a really tough run but it is in the books!!!
My preschool is open again! I am so thankful to be getting back to a regular routine. But that means my runs are mid afternoon. Luckily, it was raining today. I looked like a drowned rat, but I was cool!

I love that, Sharon!
Amen sister!! I am 62 and so thankful that I can get out there and do this. We are strong women!!! Keep up the excellent work!!
Amen to that! Heck I just want to still be running at 65 period! Running and in good health. That’s my goal.

The course sounds very interesting! Had a decent 4 with a few speed intervals...
