I ran this half marathon in 2020; it was one of the few races that actually was an in-person event . I loved this race, even though the altitude was a bit challenging for this FL flatlander. There is really only one large hill, then the rest is very doable short hills. I drove with my 2 sisters and a friend from FL, making it a week-long vacation for some post-Covid relief. The support of this community for such a small race was amazing. They did a fantastic job with social distancing and water support, and the scenery is one of my top 5 race courses in the USA.
Wow! That's a pretty big endorsement! So glad to hear last year's race went well, especially as it took place during some of the worst of Covid. I love hearing that too about the community coming out to support the event -- that's really awesome. I found the same thing when I ran the Mesa Falls Half in a little town in Idaho several years ago -- it was like the whole town came out to cheer everyone on.
I ran the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust (Maine) Half in 2019 - my favorite course so far - through Acadia National Park; the (now stopped) Nike Women's Half in SFO; Maui Half; and I am told by my sis that did Glacier a few weeks ago that its the best, so I am reserving a spot for that one too (HA!)
