I'm thankful I have full life and I get to do my running challenges every day I work really hard. I am grateful I can go home to see my mother's Thanksgiving. It takes a lot of work because I work 2 jobs and we have to coordinate everything every time I get off but I make the time because family means much more to me now as I get older. Every day I get up and I live my life to the forest I don't does that matter how many challenges I have. I have severe learning disability for people really people really don't know about it because I kept it hidden for so many years but when you get to know me I'm a fun person and very well read. People are down on themselves I try to pick them up and make them feel better but sometimes I just can't so I walk away because I want to live life I enjoy life and every day is a new event. Now I'm grateful I am finally found happiness in my life.
Thank you Terrell for providing us this opportunity, which I'm definitely thankful for. Family, health, my students at school, along with many other things are what I'm thankful for.
Thank you for the sentiments and thoughts. I deeply enjoy them because each one is heartfelt and genuine. They are at the core of what we should be thankful for.
Responding on Black Friday … as always, your columns are always thought-provoking and inspiring. Did the Twilight Zone Turkey Trot yesterday … not only did I forget my phone (so I couldn’t listen to music and my fellow runners had to listen to my corny jokes), but the National Anthem was not played before the race and I saw no mile markers on the course. It WAS a good race though.
Thank you @terrell! Very good stuff here. I saw your pics on IG and went to this email. My running is going much better now. I jump started it last weekend in Denver. What a huge blessing to run with the Rockies in sight! And has gotten even better this week. I could have run our local 10k today as I did ‘15-‘19 but chose to take a break. Ran 4 on my own and was faster than ever in the past year. Thank you for all you do to keep us educated and motivated! I love adventure and will look for that book. Blessings on your day!
Well, I saved your newsletter for this morning rather than reading through it quickly last night. It was well worth the save! I've subscribed for sometime now, and have thoroughly enjoyed the old as well as the new path you have taken. It is seldom that the author of a newsletter will take time to acknowledge the readers, much less note that they are real people. For this, I thank you!
Many of us have been down Roosevelt's River of Doubt--sometimes what we have experienced is more real than can be imagined! Running gives us the ability to make those emotions and feelings less intense. What you do as a writer brings our rambling thoughts together and makes it easier to understand. Many times, the answer for which I have been looking is dealt with in your writings. It is quite a talent, one for which I am grateful!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family.! I'll go out for a run while it has stopped raining and see how high the river can really get! Take care.
Nilima, thank you SO much for all of this. It truly warms my heart. One of the pleasures of writing this newsletter has been getting to know you here in the comments section. I just can't say enough how meaningful it is to hear from you (and from everyone here); it's just the best.
You are welcome! You have encouraged me, reminded me, & supported me throughout the years. I appreciate you for this & enjoy being part of this group. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I've really enjoyed getting to know you through your newsletter and our conversations, Terrell. I am eager to see where your mind and your newsletter will take you next. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I'm late to the party, but thank YOU for this newsletter and how you make me stop and think about things from a different angle. Hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving!
Let me chime in late. I have to agree that I am very thankful for this newsletter and this community. It is often interesting, informative, amusing, and ALWAYS uplifting. The newsletter as well as the comments shared have served to inspire me not just as a runner, but as a human. Coming as it did in the most difficult time of my life, (my father's decline with dementia and the catastrophe that was covid for a hospital nurse), it has help to keep me sane and centered. Thank you Terrell and all.
Well written and enjoyable as usual. A running news letter that explores life!
Thank you so much, Jerry!
