Not sure how this popped up on my feed but thanks for this interview. So cool to see what Sabrina is up to now. For a bit while she was in college, she lived a couple summers with me and a few roommates in Arlington VA. I credit her for eliminating music and headphones from my runs as she advocated running as a space to think and to find where our minds come to rest. Seems like she’s kept thinking very deeply and running very far.
Sabrina, I am so looking forward to reading your book. I’ve been looking to take a quantum leap from the readings of George Sheehan. I believe you will provide just that.
Great read. As I sit here with my brother who is facing tremendous challenges that have stopped almost all his independence the article spoke to me. Primarily about the grief process and how we win and lose things, abilities and people in our lives. We must adjust and accept in order to continue and return to a joyful presence. Running for me has taught me that very lesson. I thought I could run marathons within a few months of my first race. My body, mind and responsibilities showed me otherwise and I had to reevaluate my focus. Be realistic about myself and the process makes me a better more patient human. Thank you for sharing this interview ❤️
Hey Terrell thanks for all the inspirational thoughts you share and your great interviews. I had to shut down all running with a similar foot condition as you are experiencing and missed your Richmond run. After taking stock that my much older than 50 year old body needs a day of rest every other day between runs, and reading your stuff, Hal Higdon, Christopher McDougalk (and I look forward to reading Sabrina’s book) - and building it all back in body and spirit with each training run, I will be doing my first half in almost a year (just flew out of very cold New England to do the San Diego Mermaid Half) - I will be one of those Mermans out there. Thanks again for all you do for the running community you have created.
