I love WHAT I TALK ABOUT WHEN I TALK ABOUT RUNNING by Haruki Murakami! In fact, after reading this post, I re-ordered it from the library. :)

It was amazing! I went with my husband and kids (9 and 11), ran a marathon in Germany and then spend 2 weeks in Switzerland with Interlaken as our home base. Interlaken was super touristy, but a perfect location for day trips up to the mountains.

I was the in Jungfrau region a few years ago. It would indeed be the most beautiful marathon in the world :)

I have a bunch of running books, so when you asked the question I went through them all and came up with "The Incomplete Book of Running" by Peter Sagal.

Running with Sherman or the book or it may have been an article about Raven in FL the man who has been running since he was 24 and is at a 50 year running streak.

Running with Raven! But then I really love Running Home, too! And I'm in the midst of Unbroken with Louis running in Germany. . . not to mention Born to Run which got me running. (Chi Running, which is sort of "my Bible"on running). . .Too many to mention. I have a shelf of running books, too! Just started on rowing, though, with the Boys in the Boat which came yesterday. Should get my new Hiking stick soon. I'm afraid I'd never make the Alps, but never say never!!

There are so many great running books! Let Your Mind Run by Deena Kastor is one I pick up often, also really enjoyed Katie Arnold's book and Meb's books too.

26 Marathons by Meb Keflezighi is not just one of my favorite running books, it's one of my favorite books in any genre. Such a great read!

I have to say I really like Running with Sherman. I was at the marathon he mentions with the Amish kid so it even felt extra relatable but just an overall inspiring running book

I did see him run by near the end of race. Everyone was cheering him on. We went to see my daughter’s first marathon so I didn’t meet him after.

“Born to Run,” about the big race including the Tarahumara people of Mexico. It has all the elements of running and in some parts reads like a thriller.

That’s a fantastic book too — I read it when it came out years ago; I’d love to revisit it.

I read this when it came out as well...I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't run so reading it was a bit of a bummer. I'll have to pick it up again now that I'm done with that era of my life, lol.
