For the last 2 months, I have been working the Covid unit in my hospital. Every day I have off, I remind myself to notice every passing minute as much as possible. To take joy in the sunshine, the clouds, the rain, the warmth, and the cold. To take deep breaths. To appreciate my husband and daughter (my brave quarantine housemates) more. To watch the birds and insects, the flowers and trees. In short, to live each moment out of the hospital to the fullest so it can carry me through the 12+ hours I have to face. I love being a nurse, but it is particularly challenging right now. Grateful that I’m not in NY or Italy.
Thank you for EVERYTHING right now, Maria! Our hearts and thoughts are with you -- so grateful to have you as a subscriber here, and I'm honored you shared this with us. I'm trying to do the same things too, and definitely grateful as well. 😊
First—I thought the photo was a professional shot. It’s lovely.
Second—I am trying to savor a moment (or 2) each day. It could be hearing birds chirp during my run, smelling a flower in my yard, an excellent lunch, or time spent with my loved ones. I’m trying to pause for just a moment at these times and soak it in. (Sometimes I even write about it in my journal.)
I’ve said it here before. I don’t want to go back to a super-busy-crazy schedule. By savoring something each day, I’m hoping it will help remind me to slow down and say no more often. (It also helps with the weird stress I’m seeing/hearing/feeling in the world because of this virus.)
Thank you, Corrina!! I'm feeling the same thing you are, btw. I'm not really ready to go back 100% to where we were, though I know it's inevitable at some point. Trying to soak it all in right now as well.
THAT PHOTO!!!!! *gasps* Gorgeous!!!!!
Thanks, MK!

I also run every day I have to.
Keep safe and healthy everyone.

Great article!
Did you guys hear Vacation Races is holding a half marathon at Zion in June! (June 5-6)
It’s all night, with 50 people at a time being released to run. If it works, maybe we can keep racing!!!!
