I thought of you, Terrell while I was running this morning. I'm in Texas and at 6am it was already 80 degrees and 80% humidity. I soo wasn't feeling it when I stepped outside. However, I knew you and others on this blog would be running the 5 today and that spurred me on. As always, the first mile sucks..but once I got my groove, I was so glad I took the first step. So glad you started a virtual running club!! It helped today.

Hi, Terrell,

I love the running part of my day, it's officially "me time" , away from everyone. I love choosing my own music or a podcast, praying for people and situations, and giving myself a challenge to run the distance set for the day. The temperature can be a challenge, whether hot or cold...but the feeling of accomplishment is worth it! I have run with friends in the past, which was pleasant, however since moving to a new area and running alone, I have come to value it even more.

I have the little poster which says

"Run More, Worry Less" ..😍🏃‍♀️so thankful I can run and enjoy it!!

I love that, Gara! It's so cool how the experience of it has changed for you as your life has changed. Thank you so much for sharing that 👍

I love to run even when I look outside and see that the weather is far from ideal... I lace my shoes on, put on my Bluetooth and select my favorite music playlist on my Apple phone and step out the door... by the time I've selected "Outdoor Run" my heart rate has begun to increase... at the quarter-mile marker my body has relaxed, my breathing stabilized and the music in my head has taken over... I won't set a new PR, nor will I run 20 plus miles... what I've done is to do something I truly love and hope like hell will be able to until the day I die...

Me too, Steve! I love these thoughts. Really great food for thought as we all head into the new year. Hope you have a wonderful holiday, my friend!

Absolutely felt this. Thanks for sharing. I hope we can all come alive. It’s been hard to run in the Vegas heat the last couple months. The day starts at 90 degrees and gets up to 110! I just need to remember my why.

Thank you, Rebecca! I thought Atlanta was hot, but you all definitely have it tougher out in Las Vegas than we do. Stay safe in that heat!

Hey Terrell,

I also just love to run! I run out in the country, usually on a farm road. I don't need music...nature is my music.

There was a quote in George Sheehan's book " the first 30 min is for my body. the next 30 min is for my soul." The older I get the more I feel like I really need that hour 4-5times a week!

As a teacher, my challenge with running comes during the school year. My only time to run is right after school. When I'm tired and it's 85+ degrees outside....

Hopefully the consistency that I'm running now will help to keep me going in Sept.

I love that quote, Stephanie! I hear you on the challenge of fitting running in before temperatures go way up, especially when you have as demanding a job as you do. Definitely can't wait for fall!

Props to you for running in the afternoons! I'm already planning getting out at like 530 am because I run out of gas at the end of the day.
