Thank you Terrell for sharing my story. My mother's influence continues on today and every day. Starting over later in life seems to be a common theme even today in my life. I keep pushing the envelope of curiosity.
Very inspiring! I’m a half marathoner and have been sidelined with an Achilles injury for a few months. I’ve learned more about my feet, ankles and calves and that, combined with great PT, is getting me back out there. Logged 6 miles yesterday and, while I’m not fully “fixed” yet, I’ll keep at it. The Chicago Half in September is my goal. 🤞
I learned (the hard way) to not try to pressure myself if I am dealing with an injury. This can be hard to do for sure. I’ve had some great PT during my journey too. I love running in Chicago. Keep me posted!
Like I mentioned, the more I wrote about my own running journey, the more I realized the life lessons. You probably have the same thoughts going through your own journey. Thank you for your positive remarks.
Thank you Cathie. It has definitely been a wonderful journey. Looking back, I realize now that never would I have imagined running the Boston Marathon when I was in my 30’s, 40’s and even 50’s. Goes to show you that anyone, even me, can achieve certain goals if you work towards them.

Nice, Julie!! That’s great to hear. I’ve had an Achilles injury before too and they can be SO painful. Glad to hear you’re healing 🙌
Thanks, Terrell. It hasn’t been as fast or as linear as I’d hoped. But having good care is essential.
Jenn, so wonderful to read more about you here! You're amazing! Thank you.
