So far I don't see anyone claiming Idaho as home. I live in farming/ranching country with MANY miles of trails and dirt road to explore. Was training for the Banff National Park Half in June but now (since I don't have the push to train) I am mostly hiking and exploring. Most of my longer runs were done on Guam where we lived for 15 years. Sometime, Terrell, you should do the Guam Running Club's marathon. It's small but you see some incredible ocean views most of the run. (It starts in the wee hours of the morning to avoid most of the heat once the sun rises.)

As I read through these posts, I was hoping to see Idaho. I live in Idaho Falls. I run neighborhoods around my house a lot, but we also have foothills on the eastern side (that connect into the Tetons). Many miles of excellent on or off-road hills To train on.

Michael—we have family & friends in Idaho Falls! I ran a race (half) there 2 summers ago! Loved it! Beautiful place!

That’s great. Most people have never heard of IF. We have some good races in the area. I assume Vegas has a lot of good races. I’ve never looked into it there.

Honestly, I’ve only ran a few here. They were good! Saints & Sinners is a great one in Feb. I love going to Utah/Arizona/Idaho for races though & making a vacation out of it.

You're so right, Kay! I just did a little Googling about the race and found the running club's website, which makes the run look like one I absolutely must do when we're all past this. How was living on Guam, by the way?

Loved Guam. My husband and I are SCUBA divers and owned a boat so enjoyed the water every chance we got. That is where I got into running on a consistent basis (after high school track which was long ago). The running community there is very supportive. And I ran along the road (that paralleled the ocean) every morning. What a view!!!
