Thanks … my body is asking me what’s going on. A work associate recovered and went out to do a 5K and realized he had a long road ahead to get back in shape!
Yesterday, I participated in a race with no chance of anything other than a tee shirt and 5 points towards the year long series. It was a relay race for a total of four mile but had a option to run solo (noncompete). I enjoyed it very much. I got to experience a neighborhood I had not been through in a city I had been to many times. No set pace, no concentrating on the next turn or next hill, just running. I have to wonder what that says about me?
Good Evening!! I have been struggling a bit for 3 weeks . So good news first . I completed my “fastest “ for myself ( not you all lol ). 15min . Even in hot humidity .
So the bad is .. Completed my furthest 7 miles. Of course had to walk some . It took me 2hrs 4 minutes . It was 75% incline and hot humid, however , my goal remains to FINISH my first half at Bird in Hand in Sept . I just love running outdoors in Lancaster the beautiful work of GOD. I just have to finish under 4hrs. I know you all will say Not possible . Since 7 miles is my longest . I must tell myself I can finish . It’s all mindset right ??? I’m going to do my best each day .
Thank you for all your advice ,encouragement, support and information of these interesting races . Wow !!! I would love to participate in one day soon !! For now my goal is Lancaster Bird in Hand September . Oh and to not get lost ( that’s my fear lol 😳).
Great read ... new places to think about ... still dealing with Covid19. Stay well, all my friends in this fine running community
Praying you recover quickly Dave

It sounds pretty peaceful and serene to me, Philip! Maybe you're ready for a more Zen-like experience at these?
Thank you for including the list of races to consider, I have selected races to participate in from prior lists 😊!!!
