As a coach and a runner, I'm a HUGE fan of the run/walk method. Honestly, I think it's a little ridiculous to get hung up on the idea that you have to non-stop run every workout in order to be a "good" runner. Whether you follow the Galloway method or just walk 30 seconds every time you hit a mile marker, I think taking a break from running helps your body AND gives you the opportunity to mess with your phone, take a gel, drink some water, etc. There's absolutely no shame in walking during a race.
