I found a cold route today, 32degrees this morning! Snow expected this weekend! Hopefully it will be a light dusting. ❄❄❄❄🌬🌬🌬🌬

Pre-Covid, when it was too hot, I would run on the treadmill at the gym, but since the gyms are closed, I had to figure something else out. Aside from just running slower in the heat, I found new, shadier routes close to home that I wouldn’t have otherwise discovered. I also drove 20 miles west towards the ocean and ran near the beach, which was cool literally and figuratively. Finally, I am going to run a virtual marathon and my husband is going to follow me on a bike as my support. None of this would have happened if Covid hadn’t intervened.

When I lived in Jacksonville Florida, I worked the third shift... After work I would drive to the ocean and run on the beach... The air was clean, the sand was solid by the waters edge and the ocean breezes were wonderful... I'd live on the ocean if I could.

I'm a solo runner and have been for the last few years though I run in an area where there are other runners, walkers, and a ton of people on bicycles. I have asthma so I run with my trusty Bluetooth around my neck tuned to an audio book or a music playlist so I don't have to hear myself breathe. The greatest thing I've ever experienced is when your in your head and physically you feel like you could run forever.. If I could bottle that runners high, I'd be a rich man... How many other out there have experienced it?

It is definitely the most magical feeling.

I have, just once though. I’ve had a number of other times where I feel a Zen calmness during a run, but just once when I felt what I’d describe as a true runner’s high. It was better than any drug.
