The race went well, weather cooperated with temps in the high 30s & low 40s and sunny - not always the case in the southern tier of New York. My inconsistent training showed a little as my time of 2:20 was about 5 minutes off last year, but a podium (3rd) for the 70 and above group, so a success.

High 30s! Low 40s... you are a die-hard, Jim! Congrats on the podium too -- that's awesome!! 🙌

I completed the Maine Coast Half Marathon yesterday morning in Wells, Maine! My alarm went off at 4:30 and my daughter and I took the shuttle to the start area by 6 for a 7:00 gun. As promised, it rained throughout the 13.1 miles. I have never run a half in the rain before. I decided to wear a hat, rain jacket, and gloves as it was wet and cool out. All three helped (I often can't feel my fingers when I run in less than 50 degree weather and the hat kept the rain off my glasses). I fueled well for the two days before, morning of, and during the race, and I enjoyed the entire run. I am a "Jeffer" (Jeff Galloway) and found many on the course. As an aside, I viewed his memorial service online last Sunday. He was one amazing human being, and he is the reason I can still run half marathons in my late 60s. I dedicated each mile to someone different in may family. I am bless that I GET to run.

Debby, this is amazing! I actually ran the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. in rainy weather too... it was less than ideal!! So I know a little of what you went through. (Though it wasn't as cold the day we ran that as what you're describing.) I missed the Jeff Galloway memorial, but now I wish I hadn't -- he *was* an amazing human being, very gentle and encouraging in the best way. He's left a legacy to be proud of.

My daughter just signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC in October! Is that a good course? She is excited! I'll be back here in Maine sitting with my grandkids while she and her husband are down there (he as a spectator:))

I’m exploring the ER. I work weekends hope everyone else’s adventures are better than mine 😬👍

Terrell Johnson's avatar

LOL! I hope so too! (Hope the weekend has been uneventful in the ER!)

Ha never 🤪

I'm just running at SF's Great Highway. I have a couple runs I'm excited for in SF: the AAPI 5K and Bay to Breakers!

Terrell Johnson's avatar

The Great Highway is so gorgeous -- is Bay to Breakers still as crazy as I used to hear it was?

Rosalie Chan's avatar

This will be my first time, so not sure!

I’ll be running my 16th Binghamton Bridge Run Half tomorrow morning. Can’t say training has gone as well as I would have liked, but I’m pretty sure I can get it done. Hoping for the best.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Jim, be sure to let us know how it goes/went! How's the weather in Binghamton this weekend?

Days after my marathon last Oct I had rushed to sign up for another one (Potomac river run) for May 2, seemed far ahead enough to train well and pace better- it's a flat tow path course up and down the river. But life got in the way :-). Fast forward 5 months and the longest run in recent weeks has been circa 10 m, with a shuffle. Thankfully, PRR has a half option, so I’ll be doing that later this morning. No other ambition beyond finishing!

Thanks for asking. Let’s say I’m glad I did not try to make the marathon! Completely gassed out after mile 11, and barely finished limping despite this being a flat course. Lesson of the day is that I should have probably deferred but at least I learnt to partially listen to my body and do the half

Terrell Johnson's avatar

I hear you, Rupa! How'd it go?

I am not running a marathon or half marathon this weekend since I completed the University of Charleston inaugural in Charleston WVa on April 12, the Foot Leveler Blue Ridge in Roanoke, Va on April 18, and the Nashville Rock 'n' Roll on April 25. My next marathon/half marathon is Granite State Marathon in Nashua, New Hampshire, which is part of the New England Challenge.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Rosa, this is all incredible!! 🙌

I just arrived in Indianapolis -- doing the Indy Mini Half Marathon tomorrow morning! My favorite thing to do to start May : running with 35,000 other people partying in the streets of Indy!!!

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Faith this is awesome!!! Good luck tomorrow 🙌

Thanks! I got my medal and had an amazing, fun day!!!

Just completed the Nashville marathon last weekend, so taking an easy jog along the westside beltline here in Atlanta! Looking forward to feeling back to 100% for the Peachtree just two months from now :)

Terrell Johnson's avatar

So you’re based here too? How cool — we absolutely love the Beltline too, I just took little T and Mrs. T out there for a bike ride a few weekends ago. THE best.

Zach Snyder's avatar

I am! Started reading this page relatively recently, super cool to have some other Atlanta runners around!

GA -- On Sunday a number of our DRCPark Run team will be at Hillsborough High School for the 100 Laps of Healing --- Sponsors will donate to the Steps Together Organization depending upon how many laps you run / walk

Terrell Johnson's avatar

What a beautiful thing, Thomas 🙌

John Maynard's avatar

On Sunday, I get to pace the 3:30 finish at the OC Marathon.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

How awesome, John! 🙌 Have you been a peer there before?

John Maynard's avatar

Yes, last year I paced the 3:25 finish. So, I get to run a little slower this year :)

Jerry's avatar

I know wrong sport for this post, but run today will be kayaking 5+ miles on the local river. PS my running sucks right now.

Wendi's avatar

Sounds awesome!

Denise Bailey's avatar

Not training for anything right now so just my regular run around Atlanta. I need a race though!

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Same! The last one I ran was last October… there are some great Beltline 10Ks and 5Ks throughout the year 🤔

This weekend I am building my milage for my upcoming 100k. I'm planning to do a group run with a bunch of other trail crazy at a local state park. I am expecting to do over 12 miles but we will see how it goes.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Awesome, Mike! Where will the 100K take place?

Mike Chekal's avatar

The 100K I am running is part of the Wolverine State 100. It is a point to point that run across the fingers of the mitten of Michigan. The starting point is about 30 miles east of the city of Petosky and it goes into the city of Alpena.

redlegcraig's avatar

I've got nine miles to run around St. Johns county, FL. Mostly flat--hoping to get it done before the heat arrives.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Sending good vibes 🙌

What’s the temperature looking like there this weekend?

redlegcraig's avatar

It's going to get into the 80s. We've been pretty spoiled this spring so far--May will certainly bring the heat!

Wendi's avatar

Send me all the energy and positive vibes you can spare please... 100k in the CA mountains. Equal parts terrified and excited, well probably more terrified. Previous longest distance was 50 miles, just a month ago, and before that 50k.

Jerry's avatar

Have fun. Remember the 3 rules of ultra running: 1. It doesn’t have to be fun to be fun. 2. It’s like fun only different. 3. If you are going to be stupid, you better be tough. Happy Trails.

Terrell Johnson's avatar

Excellent all-around advice, isn’t it? 😂

Terrell Johnson's avatar

100K?! That’s amazing, Wendi! 🙌
