I'm running the Indianapolis Marathon on November 7th. It'll be my sixth marathon overall, but my first in nine years. The training has been going well, knock wood -- I'm just reminding myself that I don't need to have a time goal and I just need to do what I'm capable of right now.

Scott, you are the man! Six marathons overall -- training for 26.2 is like, serious business! Seriously impressed, especially given that you're doing it with a full-time job and family. That's awesome.

Feeling incredibly slow training for fall races in other states that actually have fall! Living in central Texas our morning temps are still in 70’s with humidity hovering at 85-90% makes me like a turtle! Heading to Idaho next Friday for Jackass Half then 2 weeks later Greensboro,NC-then 2 weeks later Geneva,IL. That’s all for now! Just looking forward to not being a puddle of sweat!

I feel you, Deborah! It's been INCREDIBLY hot here this summer in Atlanta (though not quite Texas levels, I'm sure). Hopefully some cooler temperatures are on the way for you -- good luck in Idaho and Greensboro!!

Snow Canyon in Utah. It's a beautiful scenic little jaunt through the red rocks.

I've always wanted to run that race... I've read about it and seen photos over the years, and it looks just spectacular. Do you live close to there?

Half marathon in Santa Cruz, CA at the end of October and a 10k with my best friends from college in Berkeley in November (we’re all Cal grads so this will be a special one)

Both of those sound fantastic, Cassandra! I've never run either, but I've visited both places and they're just the best. I love California πŸ™Œ Have you run a lot out there?

Yeah I’m a South Bay native. Great place to run, especially in the fall. No humidity and nice views

Three of my favorite runs are coming up: the James River 5k - beautiful foliage along the river and through the Jamestown settlement (October); Williamsburg Turkey Trot through Colonial Williamsburg; and the Busch Gardens Christmas Town 8k through the park while decorated for Christmas. My running challenge is getting back in shape after a summer of travel including Iceland for the total eclipse and 2.5 weeks in Alaska. I can feel the pain of starting up again even before actually starting.

Wow, Dave! How was Iceland? (And your upcoming races sound like they'll be so much fun, btw)

i do an octoberfest 5 miler every year. its a pretty course with a path through the woods that typically has great fall foliage. then it ends at a brewery:) next weekend we have the hart miler which is a race on an island...we take a ferry over! i'm also contemplating a half somewhere but thats up in the air. have a great weekend everyone!

You know, it just occurred to me that you don't see a lot of 5-mile races out there, but it's a fantastic distance. There are TONS of 5Ks and 10Ks, and quite a few 10-milers, but the 5-mile distance sounds perfect (especially the older I get!)

Our fall race will be the Steeplechase Stampede at the horse park outside Atlanta. We’ll run the 10k on our way working up to a half marathon hopefully.

I’m still looking for a fall or winter half marathon!

Training is going hot, but I’m really hopeful we’ve turned the corner into fall!
