Discover more from The Half Marathoner
Good afternoon/evening/morning, everyone!
I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know I’ll be taking a brief break from the newsletter, this week and next week. For a little while I’ve been feeling the need for a brief hiatus, to give me a little time to refill my creative well and come back full of energy and ideas. I have a few ideas cooking in the back burner of my mind, but they need a little time to simmer, a little time to come to fruition, so I hope you’ll understand.
Thanks so much for your patience with this — I really, really appreciate it, I honestly do. It’s been graduation season in our house, which has meant a whirlwind of activity and honestly, I’ve found myself a little more spent than I expected. And so, the need for a break 😃
I’ve been meaning to write a post on the anniversary of The Half Marathoner — we recently crossed the 8-year mark, which is almost hard for me to believe, and this has been the most creatively fulfilling project I’ve ever been a part of in my life, I want you to know.
That so many of you have generously contributed your support over the years by becoming a paying subscriber, absolutely means the world to me. I had no idea what to expect when I brought this newsletter to Substack almost five years ago, and the response from you has blown away my expectations for what was possible — the community we’ve cultivated here together, it makes doing this so worthwhile and so much fun, week after week.
You’ve allowed me to push what I write about and what we discuss into new topic areas, and that’s something I’d like to keep doing even more of in the second half of this year. (Can you believe we’re almost done with the first half of 2023?!) Expanding the scope of the things we explore here is at the top of my list of priorities for THM, and I hope you’re along for the ride too.
Thanks again, for everything — for being here, for reading it each week or just reading it when you can, for supporting it with your hard-earned money and your contributions: your thoughts, your comments, and your emails. It’s so gratifying and meaningful to hear from you, and I’m so glad you’re part of this ride.
I’ll see you (very!) soon!
Your friend,
— Terrell
Thank you, and a (brief) break
I forgot to add, our May running challenge won't be going anywhere! We'll keep going in the Chat area of our app -- I love meeting you there every day!
Take all the time you need, and be sure to enjoy your downtime with family. And congrats on the 8-year anniversary...probably feels like the blink of an eye. Take care.
