This year, your newsletter has been a god send. Being constantly quarantined due to my compromised immune system, the inspirational posts have helped me. I struggled trying to maintain my sanity but running helped me immensely. I had some challenges getting out on the road but when I was having troubles, I would go back and re-read some of your posts that I had starred when I read them initially and somehow I made it out the door. God willing, we will all be back in 2021 running actual races, with actual people, at actual venues enjoying the camaraderie of fellow runners! Happy New Year to all!

Loved the quoted from Katy Arnold you posted that reminded us that we are stronger than we think. Got me through my 100 Mile Challenge on the last few days. All the Best for the New Year, Terrell. Thanks for everything you do for us runners. ::)

I started 2020 with knee surgery in January and got back out and running (albeit slowly) six weeks later - just in time for quarantine and it was key to surviving and maintaining my ability to be fresh and 100% focused on the people in my company (I am in Human Resources).

I've exceed 800 miles of running and another 300 walking this year and I'm super pleased with that. I think we are all looking forward to 2021 to be the silver bullet to the cluster that 2020 has been...personally, I am being intentional about all the things I want to "keep" from 2020, all the things that I now appreciate at a different level about every day life and "normalcy", and all the things that I will be thrilled to say goodbye to ASAP.

Running has been an amazing constant this year - thanks Terrell for curating this community!!!

I work up pumped this morning... been dealing with things that JUST HAD to be done over the last couple of days and then I added up my mileage... I think you all heard my wail no matter where you live... I'm 11 miles short... It is now 12:31, 77 degrees, and a beautiful day for a run. My bride thinks I'm nuts but she's said that before... Everyone have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve... 2021 will probably not be perfect, but it has to be better than 2020!!!!

Hi, I enjoyed this post and enjoy them generally. It is eye opening as well as comforting to find the things that go thru my mind while running is a commonality and not an issue with me lol. We all have struggles globally, locally, relatiionally, as well internally and this is a great forum for that, etc... I signed up to possibly connect with other runners though have no extra funds to join I do get a lot out of reading these posts and hope to get to some "real" events in 2021. Great forum

The Earth has righted itself... 11.5 miles today!!! A total of 100.5 for the month.

The thing is, I think I cheated... I used my Christmas present my wife gave me for the first time.

She gave me a pair of Nike Air Zoom Alphafly's... I usually run in Brooks Ghosts and Asics Gel Nimbus Lites but there is nothing on Earth to compare to the Nike Alphafly... I felt like I was fitted with the "Blades" handicapped runners wear the kickback was so pronounced. It took a few minutes to get used to their spring action but when I adjust my stride, I thought I'd gone to heaven...

I'm not sure if I just decided to push it to see how much faster I could run, or it was that great of a shoe, but in 11.5 miles, I took off over half a minute per mile... I still maintained my 180 plus SPM but my heart rate went up 40 BPM... I think that was because I was in awe at how much faster I was running.

Though my bride didn't tell me what she paid... I looked at our bank statement and it was $295 with tax and shipping direct from Nike... Would I have paid that much? Not a chance... but after my first run in them, I'm not so sure now... Planning a flat-out test on a 5K... to see just how fast I can do it...

Just a little truth in advertising on the new Nike Alphafly...

This year it was a real challenge when everything was canceled but running community somehow rallied together and got virtual racing together for charity or non-charity events and I think this is what it shows how much the running community pulls together no matter what it helped a lot of people out with depression not working oh it's free you get to go outside and I think it's really important wherever you are because you get to go out and you get to see people but the virtual racing was amazing how I learned how to do the timing the metals I rather be with people and share the joy and excitement but at least we had something to look forward to and I think this is amazing community and you're amazing person on this site and I think next year we are going to return to racing but in a different type of format will be stage racing metals will be probably have to be mailed to you but we always find a way and vacation racing is amazing too they actually did some racing this year and I think they're really in the forefront of doing things and I shout out to everybody in this running community we all help each other out I'm a sport each other
