🌲 Kokanee Trail Runs. “Come join us for some amazing fall colors in one of the most beautiful places on the planet,” organizers say about this gorgeous fall run through California’s Lake Tahoe Basin, whose half marathon takes you to the top of Tahoe Mountain and features views of the lake it’s named for below. Expect lots of climbs and switchbacks along the trails through Lake Tahoe’s forests, and there’s also a 5K and 10K in addition to the half marathon. Set for October 8, 2023.

🛤️ Salina Crossroads Marathon + Half. Nestled along what was once known as the Smoky Hill Trail, this small city near the geographic center of Kansas starts in downtown Salina and takes runners on a looping tour through and around several of its parks, along paved trails and neighborhood streets, all when the fall colors should be blooming. And, the 26.2-mile race is a Boston Qualifier. Set for November 4, 2023.
