Hello, friends!
Just a quick reminder tonight — it’s almost nighttime for me here in Georgia, though it may be morning or afternoon for you — that I’m really looking forward to our meetup in Athens, Ga., this weekend for the AthHalf! And, please send me your contact info if you haven’t already.
I plan on getting into town in the early afternoon on Saturday, visiting the race expo shortly after that, and a dinner together for us Saturday night, within walking distance of the race hotels. (Don’t worry, it should only be a few blocks away from where you’re staying.)
The weather forecast for Sunday looks good for running, if slightly on the warm side — as of right now, the forecast low is 58° and the high is 74°, which is a little warmer than you’d expect this time of year. While we’re on the course, though, temperatures should be in the low to mid-60s.
Until then, I hope you get great rest and a couple of nice, easy runs in — emphasis on easy, there’s no need to overdo it now! Perhaps we can even get a quick shakeout run in together on Saturday, depending on when you’re arriving.
I can’t wait for you to see Athens and run this beautiful city; I spent the weekend there last weekend, and the fall colors are just coming out. It’s gorgeous, and I think you’ll love it.
(And, if you’re not joining us, I hope you have a fantastic run this weekend — especially if you’re running the New York City Marathon, I want to hear all about it!)
Your friend,
— Terrell
P.S.: We’ll talk about it this weekend I’m sure, but let’s start thinking about where we’d like to meet up for a race next spring. 2025 will be here before we know it 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃
Would love to join you. I did a half in Berea, Ky on the 19th, and I’m still walking on cloud 9. Good luck to all who are running.
Still here in Oregon. . . as usual, it's rainy and cold. Keep me posted on 2025!
Have fun. . . wish I were there!!! :)
