Wonderful interview— great questions and inspiring answers. I’ve been listening to this book, “The Joy of Movement,” while on my long training runs for a half-marathon coming up in September. It’s a good book and has the added benefit of keeping me motivated on those long uphills. Thanks for this!

Thanks so much, Julie! I’m going to check out that book — who’s it by?

Kelly McGonigal, PhD. After the first few chapters, I honestly wondered how she would keep it going for a whole book, but each chapter explores a different fascinating aspect. It's good!

I have been a solitary runner for most of my life running in everything from a marathon to 5K’s. I can see from Corrina Terry’s fabulous article that what made a difference for her was having a good coach. I was a member of the Greater Framingham Running Club and wanted to make it good for everyone. Please set me up with a coach who is good and supportive. I am 80 and want to continue running. I go to a predominantly black church which I love although I am white. I would appreciate anyone of any external color who is interested. My church is the Greater Framingham Community Church and Rev. Lloyd is the best pastor I have ever had. Thanks! TM

How can I get in touch with M.K. from Fitness Protection Program? I am new to this firm of communication, but I can see that this is what I need. Thanks, Corrine!

Check out Vacation Races—they always put on a great race. They had a Grand Canyon trail half several years ago that was inspiring. I hope they bring that one back. Their Lake Powell half was my all time favorite race. They just discontinued it this year. Their Rocky Mountain half is well attended and has beautiful mountain scenery. I liked that race. Their Zion race is beautiful, but usually held when it’s like 30 degrees out and it’s mostly uphill. I don’t mind the uphill, but the cold was tough for me.

Sedona, AZ has a half in February that is fun. I want to run that one again. I ran a half in La Jolla, CA in May that was so beautiful and had thousands of runners! It was so fun to be part of a big group of runners. I’m not used to that. I signed up for that one again next year.

Hope this helps! 😊
