'The main way this journey has helped me and changed me is furthering something I learned a long time ago: I can do hard things if I work at it, even things I never imagined I could do'
I'm catching up on the interviews and happy to read your story. What part of New York did you grow up in?
I love what you wrote here: "I can do hard things if I work at it, even things I never imagined I could do." YES! I continue to believe that what's between my ears is what will try to limit me.
What a wonderful story! Thank you for sharing, Chris! I have not heard the word "crave" used when speaking about running, but you nailed it. I fully relate and appreciate you helping me find what it is about running I do... I crave it. Secondly, you bring up enjoying the journey. Yup, that's it! Lastly, I love the running connection with your daughters. That is truly fantastic!! Again, your post was a pleasure to read!
Chris, thank you so much for sharing your story--and CONGRATULATIONS!!! .as you say, fitness requires commitment--and commitment (and consistency) is no small feat. Also, my brother and I laugh (mostly) over the bane of his "husky" label...Thanks again, you're an inspiration!
Great story, Chris; thank you for sharing. And good luck with whatever lies down the road. Glad that you really seem to be enjoying yourself as you explore what your body (and mind) are capable of achieving.
A testament to believing in oneself, especially discovering that “you CAN do hard things”. Let us know when you do your marathon. Mine was after having done 20 half marathons over 5 years … I did it so that I could say I did it … decided to stick with halves! Best wishes on your life’s journeys.
Thank you for inviting us to share our stories, Terrell. And thank you for sharing mine. It was fun to write and think through it and - let’s be honest - runners like to talk about their running. So thanks for giving me a chance to do that.

Love your interview but the photo with your daughters says it ALL.

I may feel the same - but I feel like a full is something I need to conquer. And thank you!

This really resonated with me, as my own story and relationship with running (and weight struggles!) are very similar.
Thank you for sharing. You're an inspiration!
Love it
