Let me know!! You're in charge! I haven't seen too many others coming in that meet our demands for the upcoming fall. . . might become a ritual for the community. You know how us humans love reruns!!:)

Still pouring rain. . . snow up high. I see the South has had its share of weather, too! Stay safe!

I am thinking of the Maine half marathon in October for the fall colors. Just did the Ashville NC half and that was nice but very hilly. A great idea to do a group run again.

Philly was mentioned a few weeks ago. I think it's fairly flat and they do the half on Saturday, which will be November 22.

only Reindeer Run I've heard ofhttps://crfoursquare.com/reindeerrun.php is here in Oregon and it tops out at a half Marathon. Pretty small, and I bet it is hard to get to. . . https://crfoursquare.com/reindeerrun.php

I ran the Urban Bourbon half in Louisville last year and it was great! Big party afterwards. It's not very flat though, but running through the park was really cool! It's on October 18th, and you do have to be over 21 to run it. And if you ever change the substack name to the 15Ker, I'd recommend the Gate River Run in Jacksonville, the first weekend in March.

I probably have been with you most of the 10 years. . .way back when I was doing Half Marathons! As a suggestion, why don't you do a repeat, either of the one in Richmond or in Athens. Seems like most of the community loved them both! You had a great point in that they were easy to get to and there were lots of interesting things to do. . . even I can get to those!

Have to agree that Utah is beautiful in the fall, but with the weather, you never know. . . I lived in Beryl for a number of years. . . Utah is fairly easy to get to, but the population has Exploded!!

I'm mostly an indoor rower now. . . there are a few flatlands around Eugene where I could train.

New Snow on the mountains this morning! Seems like winter is dragging on, even tho the trees are in bloom. . .

Back to making PI! :)

That probably is a great idea, Nilima! Richmond worked really well, for all those reasons -- it's not too far away from most cities, it's reasonably priced, it's pretty, great course... I'll think about it!

Do! If you think about it, a lot of the big races are on the same course every year. I think a lot more of the community members would come, too, if they knew it were in the same place. Richmond has grown. . . it has 3 races in November (15th, I think)

I'd love to make it to Athens, as I just couldn't do it last year. The AthHalf is Oct. 12. Several of your readers expressed an interest in either doing it again (or over). I would come to either one! Neither is too expensive, either, is another thing I have to think about. The earlier I know, the better!

To tell you the truth, I get kind of frazzled looking at races in different parts of the county for a fall meet-up. It's one of the reasons I went to the Golden Gate 4 times. . .it was easy to get to, I knew the route and the date. . . and I love San Francisco!

Happy 10 years!!! That is wonderful. I would love to do one up in the North East, thos fall colors would be incredible. If you want a down hill canyon run, MT Nebo in Utah is beautiful. September 6. However I would love to do the Athens Half.

10 years! Congratulations! I’ve done two fulls and multiple half’s. The Athens Half is my favorite and I’m ready to go again this year.

My youngest wants to do a full (it old be her first), I prefer a half. Are there any that offer both??

Happy 10th anniversary Terrell, and thx again for this running community you brought together. Just reading the regular pieces and everyone’s reactions at the end of a busy week has become a favorite weekend highlight. I hope to join the next 1/2M meet wherever that is. BTW, is anyone else running the DC Rock N’Roll 1/2 tomorrow? Am doing it again after some 10 years and the weather promises to be good!

Congratulations on 10 years! Glad we connected here on Substack. I look forward to your posts. My biggest "running" goal this Fall is to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim. It is not necessarily a run but a fast hike.........I am excited but I know I need to prepare my body and mind.

My kids and I are running the Tucson Marathon (it has a half option as well as a relay too!). Both my kids want to experience a full. We've run several halfs together and it was a lot of fun. The Tucson experience looks really great - it's in December and the course looks fairly amazing (mostly downhill!). https://www.aravaiparunning.com/tucson/

There is also a really fun race in Peoria, IL, called the Screaming Pumpkin, and it's through a historic cemetery and runs at night! https://raceroster.com/events/2025/99500/screaming-pumpkin. (I'm just selfishly suggesting runs at this point LOL)
