💬 Friday Thread: What do you know (or want to know) about running clothing?
How do you know what to get?
Taking a page out of what Edith shared with us earlier this week in her story, I’d love to chat about running clothes — namely, how to choose a shirt, the right kind of shorts to get, whether I need compression socks, even the right kind of running jacket. You know, one that’s not too heavy, but still keeps you warm?
Speaking for myself, I’m always flummoxed when I walk into a running store, because I wear the same running shorts and shirts for years on end (until they basically don’t exist anymore!).
And then, by the time I go into a store, the merchandise has changed and I’ve completely forgotten what I need to get.
What do you like, or love, among what you’re finding? What brands to consider (and which ones to avoid), how to take care of your clothing, and what’s best for the kind of running you do?
If you know a lot about running clothing, wear or gear of any kind, please share your tips and secrets! 😀 — Terrell
Pockets have become a deal breaker for me too. The more pockets the better. I also like the shorts that fit like bike shorts better than a traditional running short. Nothing bounces around in your pocket with those and they also tend to have more pockets. Another added benefit is that I don’t chafe with them like I have with regular shorts.
I love all things Oiselle. the only problem - the clothes are so cute and comfortable that I want to wear them all the time - not to run!
Agree with others about pockets - more please.
but just no with the little strings inside shorts and tights. these chafe and bother me. Rabbit running makes great shorts with few seams and no ties. love them.
