Hey, Terrell! So glad you are Back! I'm Running Again! 7 days into the PAWS walk. . . one walk/day until the 24th of June. Started on the first day by walking, then said, what the heck and started running on the 2nd day! I just can't help myself, I like to move faster!
Tomorrow, I make 76 revolutions around the sun, as Clark says! I'll read more once I get back from being out on the Trail. Looks like some interesting articles. Take care! :)
Thank You, Terrell! I'm on the 8th day of PAWS walk. . . already did 10 miles. Ran the 2 mi. I pledged for Global Running Day yesterday. I can't tell you how good it feels to be running again--to not have my body hurt and to not have my chest feel like it is going to implode! A whole new lease on life. I have nothing planned for 76 years on this planet, just to be grateful I'm still here. . . oh, and to be a little decadent. . . a Coffee Milkshake or a Hot Fudge Sundae! ;)
I almost ran yesterday for Global running day. But I’m on day 11 of resting my knee from runners knee. I have not seen any progress on the healing...until today! It is finally starting to show improvement. I am excited. Plus, unlike 2022 when my running motivation was low, I have been chomping at the bit to get back to it. All things in good time. Just so happy to see progress!
Thanks for this Terrell! I especially liked the Steve Magness posts at the end. 👍🏼 I often feel lazy/people think I am, but I run a lot. It’s tiring!
I don’t have a race until Lake Powell in October, so I’m keeping up with my assigned training with coach MK, but not putting any pressure on myself. (Yet!) As I type this we are cleaning out, packing, and hopefully moving in July to a better part of Las Vegas, near my school. It’s been good for us to go thru things and clean out. Therapeutic. 🥰
Hope you have a lovely run today! Thanks for all you do for us. 👍🏼
I listened to an interview with Martinus Evans on the Not Your Average Runner podcast this weekend. He is an inspiration. If you have a chance to listen, it is well worth your time (and he will make you laugh).
Thanks, Greg! I’ll definitely check it out. He’s such an inspirational guy; I remember when his Slow AF Run Club first started, but had no idea it had blossomed like it has. What a story.
After an 8 mile run this weekend, I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC! And it was a good thing I did because it sold out the next day :)
My 4-year old son and I are going with neighbors to run a fun mile today for Running Day.

I'm late in replying, but I want to wish you the happiest of birthdays, Nilima! This is so, so great -- what are you doing today for your big day?
