Boston, Cape Ann, Horseneck Beach, Nantucket + Newburyport
Races you'll love running + weekly recommendations
Did you have a chance to share where you are in the world in our Friday discussion thread? (If you didn’t or don’t want to, by the way, that’s totally fine.)
I took a moment to create the map above based on your answers, which I always find fascinating — it’s such a cool thing to see where you all are out there around the world, and how far this newsletter reaches into big cities we’ve all heard of as well as tiny little towns and villages. I know it’s a cliché by now, but moments like this are when the internet blows me away.
A couple of you are either on the way or already in Boston for tomorrow’s 127th running of the marathon, and if you are I would love to hear how it goes. Feel free to share it either in the comments here or in a reply back, and I can put together reflections from all of you who are there to run it, experience it or just see the runners go by.
In the meantime, I hope you have an amazing Sunday and get a great run in today — and let me know how it goes!
Your friend,
— Terrell
🏃 To run
🐎 Horseneck Half Marathon. From the starting line at Horseneck Beach State Reservation in Westport, Mass., you’ll follow a route along the water for most of the race, passing by rolling farm fields and a few vineyards, crossing over a bridge at Horseneck Channel, and a finish along Beach Road before coming in for the finish back at Horseneck Beach. Set for May 21, 2023.
⚾️ Boston’s Run to Remember. A running tour of Boston’s most historic places — from the green urban oasis of Boston Common and the Public Garden to Faneuil Hall and the Old State House. You’ll follow a mostly fast and flat course from Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center through the Back Bay area and take in views of the city’s skyline for much of the course, including stunning views when you run back and forth over the Longfellow Bridge. Set for May 28, 2023.
