Good morning… actually evening, friends! ⛅️

Please forgive my tardiness in getting out today’s issue to you, as it’s been an unusually busy weekend in our house. Cold weather returned with a vengeance to where I live in Georgia this weekend, after a couple of weeks of almost summer-like weather. This is probably the final gasp of freezing temperatures we’ll see until the fall, though, so I’m enjoying the chance to build a fire while it’s still here.

I’m going to make this short and sweet but I’ll have more to write to you later this week — in the meantime, have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Your friend,

— Terrell

To run

🥃 Mine Hill Half Marathon. The “toughest road marathon in Connecticut” awaits at this late spring race, which organizers say is “one of the most beautiful, yet breathtaking (both visually and physically!) races you will run.” Starting from Roxbury’s Mine Hill Distillery, the course winds along country roads through farm fields, forests and hills, next to a 360-acre nature preserve, where you’ll finish this up-and-down route with a stretch along the Shepaug River. Set for May 28, 2023.

🏔️ Mountain to Meadow Half Marathon. Summer begins in eastern Idaho with this gorgeous “mountain to meadow” run along the Montana-Idaho border, among the trees of the Lolo and Clearwater National Forests. Along the route, you’ll “pass through flowering meadows, quiet forests, and experience unique views of the Bitterroot Mountains.” Set for June 10, 2023.
