Love the idea Terrell of a daily shot of dopamine in the form of curated running news, photos and inspirational quotes. You increase the width of my morning smile and the length of my walking/ running stride. Hope this intended streak continues 👣❗️👣

I agree ... works as a break in the action with respect to my work-at-home work day. Truly inspiring, thought provoking and a good way to “find yet another race” for my bucket list.

Thanks, Clark! The conversations we have here in the comments are the heart of this newsletter, and I’m trying to think about the best way to cultivate that and make it possible for people to connect here; it feels like a daily short email might be a great way to do that, especially since we’re all scattered across the world and running on our own schedules now 👍

Sure! Short and sweet works.

I do still like the list of them if you decide to go back to that.

Question… I’m looking for a few more races to do in certain states. Have you heard of Mainly Marathons? If so, do you, or anyone here, know anyone who has done them! Any comments or input welcome please.

Also my friend that I met here, Donna and I, just ran Run Sedona together this past weekend!!! Definitely a bucket list race but I will NEVER do that again. Gorgeous but insanely hilly. I say “together”, but we ran it separately. She is much better trained up than I am and we agreed to run it apart. It was absolutely gorgeous if anyone wants to do a half in Arizona. We had the BEST girl’s weekend, post race massage and Jeep tour.

I’m so grateful for this group and the new friend I have in her. We met at Indy 500 through this group, ran Detroit Free Press next and now this one. After the pandemic and my recent move to the new state, I really needed a friend. I truly believe that heaven sent her my way. We stay connected and are planning on doing more races and completing a race in the 50 states. It’s been so much fun!

Jennie, this is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard about the newsletter, and the best result I could possibly imagine. I'm so, so happy you Donna met up in real life and have been able to share those great weekends together. What a blast! I wish I'd been there! 🙌

What a GRAND idea, Terrell! So good to see something brief in the morning. Keep it up--not only races, but one at a time articles and quotes. Gives my mind and body something to mull over all day instead of once a week.

Still raining here, temps have evened out and it feels like March already. There is hope!

Finished The Diamond Eye. . . all I can say is it is worth the read.

Exactly! I was talking about this with my wife the other day, and I want to make sure whatever I send "sparks joy," if that makes sense 😃 It's hard to believe it's February already!!

Dave, your photo looks like the perfect advertisement from a quote I recall ( source unknown). “We don’t stop running because we age, we age because we stop running…

You are now, one of my man. “young running heroes”!!!!! 👣❗️👣

I can attest that this is a great race with something for everyone. I ran it last year and enjoyed watching all the shenanigans. It has a great hill in the middle too. I also like this idea of short posts about races. Keep it up!

"Sparks of Joy" does make sense. I love newsletters, but it is so easy to get lost in them, One at a time is perfect--be it a race or a quote. It is much easier on the human mind. Too bad other authors don't put a much thought in it as you do!

February always seems so short it hardly counts!! :)
